All You Tallahassee Mamas

Here's an idea I'm just going to put out there. I actually have to give credit to my mom which is where the idea originated. Again, this is JUST AN IDEA!!

I've done baby swapping with some of you out there which has been most wonderful and always a needed break for just Preston and I to get away. But, I often get left wondering if our dates are too long or if we're imposing too much, etc. SO. . .  here's nd idea that I wanted to get feedback on. If people are interested then we can work on setting it up.

We would have a group list with everyone's name, number and email who was interested. We'd each start out with the same amount of Babysitting Bucks (or minute money? I'm open to suggestions) that would equal time as payment. So, let's say we start out with 3 60min, 2 30min,  and 4 15min (total of 5 hours). Then when you want your date night, you can contact anyone from the sheet who's also involved and pay them with the amount of time that they watch your kid(s).

Here's my thoughts on this idea.

PROS

  • You can spend as much time away from your kid(s) as you spent watching someone else's.
  • You still feel like you're paying someone for their babysitting
  • It's kind of fun
  • You can offer to watch other people's kids while you're already planning to babysit if you need extra cash (the fake stuff anyway)
CONS
  • I would really really hate for it to get too formal or have people feeling like they should have gotten a little more "money" for their time. That's why the smallest bill would be 15 minutes.
  • It's more work than just calling me up
SO I WANT TO HEAR YOUR THOUGHTS!!! PLEASE!
Let me know if you think it's a good idea, needs tweaking or is just not so practical.
I just had to get it out there. Love all ya'll!

Holiday Highlights

First of all, thanks for the congratulations. We all need those posts that get a lot of comments every now and then as a reminder that people do care about our lives. Sad that we have to be reminded, but it's true.

Anyway, I still want to post something from Christmas, but we did so much that I won't go into a lot of detail. Here's some photo highlights.

THE BIRTHDAY PARTY
Brayden LOVED watching his birthday video multiple times. This was his first full viewing and he got to sit on his new rocking horse holding his new ball.

The AMAZING cake Angela Durtschi made for the party!

Enjoying his duck head from the cake :)

And the kid's favorite. . . PRESENTS!
THE FLIGHT TO UTAH
He FINALLY fell asleep for about half of the second flight
But then he got up 30 minutes before we landed :)
 UTAH BIRTHDAY PARTY
Brayden started some MAJOR teething and decided he could cry if he wanted to at his party.  But the other kids liked the toys :)

The good news is that he came home with 4 more teeth! 2 of them are still working their way all the way out, but you can feel them.

Having a little fun despite the teething
 SHARING FRUIT

TEMPLE SQUARE
We went with my Mom and brother, but I didn't see a group picture. . . too bad.
 PIZZA CELEBRATION
Steve finished Community College! Now he's moving on to the University of Utah. Way to go!
4th ANNUAL SPAGHETTI FACTORY DINNER WITH THE SHARPS
The boys

We started going to Spaghetti Factory to celebrate Alisa's and Preston's birthdays when we first met before any of us were married (we all met in the same ward) and we decided we had to continue the tradition even if it's a little early.
 ANGIE'S FRIENDS
All the cute kiddos!! I loved seeing everyone! Sorry if I don't have a picture of you. . . I was pretty awful about taking pictures everywhere, but I seriously loved seeing each of you!
 ZOO LIGHTS & SANTA
Brayden's first time seeing Santa and he loved him. He had to keep feeling the long white beard.
