New Project

I'm so excited about my new project at hand!! I've been wanting to make something. . . you know those crafty urges? Anyway, I have a whole list of projects to do, but the one that I've started getting supplies for is building a toddler bed for Brayden! It's actually going to be pretty easy. I found several Toddler Bed plans online and I merged a couple together to create the idea for Brayden's. Here's what it will look most similar to, but with a few differences. I don't like that this bed is all the way against the ground because then I can't use the under bed space for storing stuff. So I'll be changing that. But, I do LOVE the edges being covered with fabric and I already went and got my batting, fabric and staple gun for that part! SO EXCITED! It's gonna be cute! I'm planning on getting the wood today or tomorrow during President Day sales. I got some steals on the other stuff. I got fabric that's usually 12.99/yard (way more than I would have ever paid!), but it was 50% off plus I had a 20% off coupon, so it wasn't bad. The batting was 50% off too plus the 20% off, so that was awesome. The staple gun wasn't on sale, but I got it at Micheal's where I happened to have printed off a 50% off coupon as well, so it was only 5.99.  Total spent so far: $25. I expect the wood will be 20 or less, so I'll have the whole bed for about 40-45! Not to bad. I'll be posting pictures for sure!

Sounds like a great project! Something I would enjoy doing, too. You are very creative and have great interior design skills so I am sure it is going to end up looking fantastic! Way to bargain shop, too!

I like these cute beds. What a fun way to decorate and have a great bed at the same time. I actually like that they are on the floor. Much safer that way if the kids fall out of bed. Another plus is toys and things can't get under the bed, but that is just me.

Good luck and have fun on your project. Will look forward to seeing your pictures.
